The ILRS Code defines three levels of service (Express, Rush, and Core) and establishes charges for each. The faster an item is required, the greater the cost. The Guide to Best Practice for Interlibrary Resource Sharing in Australia provides libraries with advice to facilitate efficient and effective resource sharing. Libraries are expected to make ILL requests only if they are consistent with the Code, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. The Guide is available at http://www.nla.gov.au/initiatives/ilrscode/ilrsbp.html
